Unit Overview
The three common states of matter are solids, liquids, and gases. Each of these forms of matter has their own unique attributes. Through the hands-on activities in this unit, students will learn that matter can be changed in a variety of ways (tearing, dissolving, melting, squeezing, etc.).
Standards of Learning
S2P1 - Students will investigate the properties of matter and changes that occur in objects.
S2P1.a - Identify the three common states of matter as solid, liquid, or gas.
S2P1.b - Investigate changes in objects by tearing, dissolving, melting, squeezing, etc.
