TOPICS/SKILLS for the Week of February 6-February 10:
Math: Begin unit 4 (place value)
Reading: Ask Questions Using Nonfiction Texts
Language Arts/Writing: Poetry-The students are having a great time writing poems and learning new strategies. They will share some of their poems during their Student Led Conference.
Science: Pushes and Pulls
If you are able to sign up as a Copy Helper that would be greatly appreciated. I know times are limited, but if you can come at a different time other than 9:00 or 12:00 on Friday just let me know.
We have been very busy preparing for next Friday’s Student Led Conferences! Students will showcase some of their work and discuss progress they’ve made this year. Each conference will last 10-15 minutes, and after the conference, you will be able to look at some more of your child’s work and view the activities they’ve uploaded to SeeSaw. This week they completed a couple more activities that have been uploaded. The items won’t be available for viewing until February 10 during Student Led Conferences. The only way I could “save” the activities for viewing on Friday was to disable parent access. Therefore, if you try to log in to SeeSaw, you probably will not be able to do so until next Friday. As I have approved the things the students have uploaded, I notice that their presentations are not perfect and sometimes contain mistakes. They are very proud of their work and excited to share with you, so as you view finished products with your child, please encourage him/her and provide positive feedback. At the same time, if you feel that some constructive suggestions would benefit them in the future, please feel free to offer some advice.
Classroom Donations: We are still in need of a couple of items: glue sticks, Double Bubble Gum, and reams of plain white paper. If you are able to contribute any of these items, I would greatly appreciate any donations!
School Picture Day is Thursday, February 9. An order form can be found in your child’s Friday Folder. Please do not send order forms and money to school until Thursday. Thank you! J
Here are some important dates in the weeks ahead:
