TOPICS/SKILLS for the Week of February 20-February 24:
Math: using the inverse operation to check 3-digit addition and subtraction
Reading: asking and answer questions using a non-fiction and fiction texts (THICK and THIN questions)
Language Arts: possessive nouns
Writing: poetry
Science: pushes and pulls
It was great seeing you all at Student Led Conferences last Friday. All 20 students came with at least one parent, so we had 100% participation! I was tremendously proud of the students at how well they conducted themselves and how they led their individual conference. It was fun to see them “in charge!”
Our valentine exchange was fun, and the students were excited to exchange valentines with their friends. Their valentine containers were cute, and they LOVED handing out and opening their valentines. Thank you for the many gifts and valentines I received. All the kindness really brightened my day and made me feel special!
I am not sending Friday Papers home this week. Friday Folders and papers will go home next Friday, February 24.
Today we Skyped with a children’s book author named Sarah Sullivan. She read one of her books to the students and answered some questions. It was a great experience, and we all enjoyed talking with her!
Remember-there is no school on Friday, February 17 or Monday, February 20. I hope you enjoy the long weekend!
Here are some important dates in the weeks ahead:
Friday, February 17 – No School
Monday, February 20 – No School
February 24 - College Day - Wear College Clothing
Have a nice weekend
